Sidetracked

Okay, so I've been on a bit of a poetry kick for the past few days...I just wrote a poem for my other book(the one I'm almost done with) last night, and I thought I'd post it now. I'll post the other form of "Oh Rise up and Come" eventually...

The Wanderer's Plea

Oh, wary is the way
I walk this day
Oh, guard my steps
That my life may not end

Oh, while in dark I walk
Keep my sword sharp
Oh, while I run
Your will always be done

When enemies assail
May I prevail
Though I am weak
Your strength, it is complete

My King, make me stronger
As I wander
So that I might
Ever uphold Your light

Like it? Pray, tell!

That was sooo awesome, Shelby! It kept me nearly entranced during the whole thing. You should be proud of your amazing writing talent. God has trully blessed you with a gift for poetry writing. I am so glad that you do it all to the glory of Him.

That was pretty good. Have you looked into publication options for your work?

The best poetry I write is free verse. I don't know if consider that cheating!

Aw gee that was AWESOME!

Wow, that was great, shelby!

Jamin-all I can write is free verse. I stink at ryming, and limericks and such are WAAAY outta my league! I don't know if its cheating, but free verse still sounds pretty cool!

Kaili, if you need help at rhyming then do a Google search for an online rhyming dictionary. That's what I use when I cannot come up with good rhymes. Yes, I am sneaky;)

Shelby, that poem, if I have not said before, was truly beautiful. I am so excited about how God is working through you to write inspiring poetry. God guides out steps and really helps us when we need it. Never alone! You rock, girl!

Jamin, yes, she should definitely look into publishing her poems. They are really awesome. I write poems, too, sometimes.

Ash, I totally agree with you! Her poetry is off the hook! Shall I call you Ash or She-who-has-commented-first? :)

Erm.........who is Bob?

Wow, long comment.

Sapphira--thank you so very much for your compliments--you and the others make me want to keep up with my poetry. And also...I have no idea who bob is...
Jamin--I have indeed thought about looking into publishing my poetry...haven't looked into it yet, however.
As for your free verse, I admire you for that, because I cannot write free verse at all! My poetry has to have some sort of rhyme or refrain somewhere! I would much enjoy seeing some of your poetry sometime.
Araken--I agree. Rhyming dictionary? I did not know there was such a thing! It sounds awesome!

Thanks for commenting,

I like your poem, Shelby Marie. If you want to compare works, read "Calvary" on my blog, http:threeswans.blogspot.com A compilation of Christian bloggers' poems would be a thing worth reading!

She walks in light
and wields a weapon of ink
The words flow freely
cascading down
billowing forth
brimming over
Her heart expressed
in curves and forms
Glimpses are all we see
peeking out
shining through
yielding under
